Sparse blogging
- Hello,
- I'm sorry my entries here have been so few and far between. I've been busy working at my day job that I started around June of last year. It wasn't supposed to take up so much of my time, but in the end it is more of a 20 hour a day job than just 8. I have squeaked in 2 trips to London, but one was for work so it doesn't count. I just got back from a short weekend in Las Vegas with my cousin and her crew. I will be in Orlando and again in London next month, again for work.
- If you like, I do post more pictures on my Facebook page. http: //www.facebook.com/kristinmccoy1

This picture is one of several that was taken for the charity “Compassionate Eye Foundation” and hosted by Getty Images for purchase with the proceeds going to the charity. I am happy to see my work that day is paying off for them.
Here is the original:

Red Carpet in the Big Apple
Mom and I flew to New York City earlier this month. We have been volunteering with GFC, a charity that works with children. They were having a “thank you” dinner and since we had free room and board with my cousin who lives in Brooklyn, basically the only cost was for the flight there and back. Well, plus a few souvenirs and some fancy restaurant meals - - maybe a few drinks, Starbucks and a couple of clubs. So you see, it really didn’t cost too much. So anyway, there was a red carpet sort of picture taking before the dinner and I, of course, being one half of the “Red Carpet Fashionistas” had to get my picture taken. Here it is:
I had on a dress from White House Black Market. I love having the Premium Outlet store in my town. Makes getting high quality fashions at an extremely affordable price too good to pass up. The heels were purchased there also. Don’t they go together nicely.
Then here’s the other side….

I copied the story my mom, Kathleen, wrote about our meet up with Josh Groban after his concert at Staples Center in Los Angeles, August 17. There’s a picture of the t-shirt to go along with it if you click on the Twitpic.
Contents are HOT

After the concert on Wed. Aug. 17 at Staples Center, Los Angeles, my daughter, Kristin, and I decided to stay late and see if we could find out where the rest of the fans were waiting to get autographs. We took the long way around the Center, just walking and talking. Finally we got to the back with the buses and saw everyone else standing behind a low fence. “That has to be them!” We joined the group but we were in the way back. Being short my whole life I knew we wouldn’t stand a chance to get an autograph from the back, but since Josh hadn’t come out yet Kristin looked around for a place for me to sit out the wait. We spent the next hour sitting and sharing on the edge of a planter. I felt sorry for everyone standing, but I guess they wanted to stay in front and not loose their place.
Slowly, slowly the number of fans dwindled down as the hour got later and so word yet if Josh was even going to come out. There was a lot of excitement when the piano player and some others came out to see us. The word now was that Josh would be coming out, too. No hugs, no one on one pictures, but he would be signing. Yea!
Kristin & I were still standing at the back, hoping to get a chance. There were some women with a well-filled backpack standing there also. Apparently they worked at Staples? or somewhere close by and were giving Josh a bunch of gifts. They knew the guards who were allowing them to stand to the side of the fence behind some low bushes. Well since we were in back and I guess I looked harmless enough, leaning on my cane, when we moved to join the women we were allowed to go there also. I was almost at the front when one guy and his mother crowded in front of me. Fortunately Kristin was able to squeeze in on the right of them, the last person Josh would see before heading to his ride.
It took a long time for Josh to work his way down the line, but I knew he would not pass us by, so I was content to wait. I had a picture for him to autograph so I could give it to my boss’s wife, a Josh fan. (My boss, at Worldview Pic, framed all the “Race to a Million” pictures of Josh holding the large check.) Some people were talking and talking to Josh, wanting to share their stories with him and he is so polite, listening to them all. Oh the agony of being at the end of the line……
I got my autograph quickly signed by Josh, I could tell he was tired out. His eyes seemed a bit glazed. When he got to Kristin she handed him a t-shirt she had gotten for him that was from our local Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf that said “Caution Contents are HOT”. She told Josh about where she had met him before and he smiled, his eyes lit up. He remembered her.
I don’t know what Josh’s policy is about accepting gifts from fans, I don’t know if he kept the shirt or gave it away. Kristin meant for him to wear it. The picture of the shirt was posted that night on http://twitpic.com/67ue4k by Stefany Reed one of the Groband ladies who is @Reeeediculous on Twitter.

9 months ago • 2 notesDrew acted with me on “Tag” before he did “Falling Skies”
If you watch at the time marker # :22 you will see Drew Roy acting with me on the short film “Tag”.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1399608/combined I played the lead part of Kit. Originally the short was titled “Harvest”.
The story you might like to know here is that I was cast first by Alex O’Flyn. He wanted me to pick out which male lead to work against, from the 2 choices Alex had narrowed it down to, I picked Drew. I worked with Drew on the script, giving him some advice. Wow, now he’s a lead on “Falling Skies” and I’m still looking for a good agent. Drew is a solid actor. Still, Hollywood is easier for guys to break into. Truth…
10 months ago • 1 noteI play the part of Miss Mayhem. In this scene I’m working at the Hero’s Guild of America.
10 months ago • 2 notes- I've done a couple of parts in some shorts. One called "Reason", one I posted the link to it titled "I Want To Be Me". Then I did a day's shoot on "Generic Girl" a Web Series. My episode is #5. I'll let you know when it's on-line.
I’ve been doing some work on “Switched at Birth” acting as a Deaf student.
I’m also starting a job with someone I know working as his Personal Assistant. I’ll let you know how that progresses. Hopefully I will still be able to work that job and continue with my acting and auditioning.
It would be nice if this country had a program for performers which subsidized them as they sharpened their craft, took acting, singing, dance classes, and others as needed. But, since they don’t, we thespians still need a day job (or night job).
